Morning wood, which is also called nighttime penile tumescence (NPT), can happen to men of any age, but it happens less often as men get older. Many men experience fewer morning erections after they reach their 40s and beyond. This can be caused by biological changes and other things. Even though men of all ages can have morning wood, the frequency of it may decrease with age because of changes in the body, such as chemical changes and changes in the male reproductive system.
