It's not a good idea to cause erectile dysfunction (ED). But things like smoking, drinking too much alcohol, and using illegal drugs can make it worse. Diabetes, obesity, and heart disease are some of the health problems that can make you more likely to have ED. Things like stress and worry in the mind can play a part. ED can be avoided or managed by staying away from these risk factors, living a healthy life, and seeing a doctor for any underlying problems.
